About Andre Johnson
Candidate for Gwinnett County Superior Court
Andre Johnson is a graduate of Morehouse College and Emory University School of Law. An experienced litigator with a focus on civil rights, criminal defense and family law, Andre has a decade of experience as a state prosecutor and public defender. He has worked with a number of organizations advancing human and civil rights such as the American Civil Liberties Union and the Southern Center for Human Rights. He also worked for a small civil law firm which handled personal injury, wrongful death and family law cases. Andre served as Chairman of the State Bar Juvenile Law Committee where he led efforts to revise the Georgia Juvenile Code. He has served on numerous committees dealing with child welfare and also participated in the former Georgia Supreme Court Justice Benham’s Committee on Public Access to the Courts. Andre currently serves as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Family and Children.
Andre is a native of Detroit, Michigan residing in Lilburn, Georgia for the past two decades. He is a loving husband of 22 years to Gina, and father of two young adults.
